Job Description:
As a school-based OT, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services within an educational setting. You will be responsible for evaluating children across different grade levels, planning interventions, and developing instructional plans tailored to meet their specific functional and educational needs.
Start Date: Early to mid-August 2023
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing treatment to assigned caseload.
• Work together with and provide supervision to OT assistants
• Conduct assessments of children to gather information for goal setting, intervention planning and consultation.
• Collaborate with the educational team to contribute to individualized education plans that address the functional and educational needs of each child.
• Provide dynamic interventions to help children build essential life skills, excel in education, and enhance their abilities for success.
• Collaborate with the educational team and families to embed skill-building activities into daily routines both in the classroom and at home.
• Documentation and data collection of ongoing therapy.
• Complete necessary Medicaid billing in conjunction with school deadlines and procedures.
Requirements:
• Current licensure to practice Occupational Therapy within the state of Ohio
• Ohio Department of Education Certification (can be completed upon hire)
• Experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a school or educational setting is preferred.
• Strong assessment and intervention planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Passion for working with children and helping them overcome developmental, educational, and motor challenges.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on the latest research and techniques in occupational therapy.
